REMOTE DOCUMENT NOTARIZATION
Michigan Online Notary Services
Schedule a document review for eligible online notarization with remote identity verification, live two-way audio/video, and electronic notarization through an appropriate Michigan-compliant process.

A DOCUMENT-SPECIFIC SERVICE
Online notarization starts with knowing where the document is going
Online notary eligibility depends on the document, receiving party, signer locations, identification, certificate wording, witnesses, and applicable law. We review those facts before an appointment is scheduled.
EZTAXACT does not choose the legal form of a notarial act or provide legal advice. The receiving party or an attorney may need to confirm whether an acknowledgment, jurat, witness, or specific certificate is required.
DOCUMENT ELIGIBILITY PREFLIGHT
What to have ready before you request an appointment
Send the complete unsigned document and the surrounding instructions so the notary can identify questions that need to be resolved before scheduling.
Complete unsigned document
Do not sign or fill in areas reserved for the notary before the review.
Receiving party
Tell us where the document will be submitted and any instructions provided.
Signer locations
Provide the physical location of each signer during the notarial act.
Photo identification
Have available government-issued identification that can be reviewed remotely.
Certificate and witnesses
Include required certificate wording and any witness instructions.
ELIGIBLE DOCUMENT REVIEW
Common document categories may include
Eligibility is never automatic. The receiving party, document type, signer location, and applicable rules control the final review.
Business documents
Selected business agreements, certifications, authorizations, and corporate records.
Real-estate documents
Documents that the receiving party confirms may be completed through remote notarization.
Personal documents
Selected affidavits, powers of attorney, and declarations when the requirements are satisfied.
International-use documents
Documents headed outside Michigan may require additional authentication or apostille steps.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OR JURAT?
The document’s purpose determines the notarial certificate
The signer or receiving party should know which act is required. A notary may explain the difference but does not select the act or provide legal advice.
Acknowledgment
The signer acknowledges signing the document voluntarily for its stated purpose.
Jurat
The signer signs or affirms before the notary and makes the required oath or affirmation.
HOW REMOTE NOTARIZATION WORKS

- 03

- 05

SIGNER REQUIREMENTS AND SECURITY
Prepare for a live, identity-verified appointment
Signers should be able to participate privately, communicate with the notary, present acceptable identification, and complete the required electronic steps.
Before the appointment
- Use a device with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.
- Have the complete unsigned document and identification available.
- Be prepared to state your physical location and answer identity questions.
- Review names, dates, certificate wording, and receiving-party instructions.
- Do not send sensitive signer documents through ordinary email when a secure intake route is available.
WHERE SIGNERS ARE LOCATED MATTERS
Remote access does not mean universal eligibility
Michigan remote notarization requires a compliant live audio/video process, and the commissioned notary must remain physically in Michigan during the act. Each signer’s location and the receiving jurisdiction may affect eligibility.
Michigan-based notary
The notary remains physically in Michigan while performing the act.
Signer location
Each signer must disclose where they are physically located and meet applicable requirements.
Receiving jurisdiction
The agency, court, lender, employer, or other recipient may impose additional rules.
SPECIAL HANDLING
Some documents need a different path
Copy certification
Michigan notaries cannot certify copies as true copies. The document owner or receiving authority may need to provide another method.
Apostille and authentication
Apostille or authentication is separate from notarization and may require original signatures or physical documents.
Legal or receiving-party questions
We cannot provide legal advice or decide whether a document satisfies a foreign, court, lender, or agency requirement.
SCOPE AND QUOTE REVIEW
The appointment scope is confirmed after the document review
There is no universal online-notary price published here. The scope may depend on the number of documents, number of signers, witnesses, identity-verification requirements, document complexity, and any separate authentication or support requested.
ONLINE NOTARY QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Can every document be notarized online?
No. Eligibility depends on the document, receiving party, signer locations, identification, witnesses, certificate, and applicable law. We review the document before scheduling.
Does the notary choose an acknowledgment or jurat?
No. The signer, receiving party, or legal adviser should determine the required act. A notary may explain the difference but does not provide legal advice or select the act.
Must the notary be in Michigan?
For the Michigan remote-notarization process described here, the commissioned notary must remain physically in Michigan during the notarial act.
Can signers be outside Michigan?
Possibly, but it is not automatic. The signer’s physical location, document purpose, receiving jurisdiction, and applicable requirements must be reviewed.
What identification do I need?
You should have available government-issued photo identification that can be reviewed through the applicable identity-verification process. Requirements are confirmed during preflight.
Can you notarize a copy as a true copy?
No. Michigan notaries cannot certify copies as true copies. The receiving party may require another certification process.
Can you handle apostille or authentication?
Notarization and apostille or authentication are separate processes. Documents for international use may require original signatures, physical documents, or additional state steps.
What records are retained for remote notarization?
Michigan standards require remote journals and audio-video recordings to be retained for at least 10 years. The applicable process and records are confirmed before the act.
Can you use any online notary platform?
Do not assume that every platform is approved or appropriate. The platform and account should be verified before a specific vendor is named or promised.
How much does online notarization cost?
We do not publish a universal price before the document, number of signers, witnesses, identity requirements, and related support are reviewed.
